Vaulther — Privacy Policy

The Short Version

Your tool data stays on your device. What you enter in Vaulther's AI tools — your salary, your negotiations, your career data, your strengths — is stored locally in your browser and never transmitted to our servers. We collect only what's necessary to run the service: your email if you subscribe, and payment info processed by Gumroad. That's it.

Vaulther is operated by Boostar Consulting LLC, a limited liability company based in New Jersey, United States.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of vaulther.com and its associated tools, newsletter, and services.

✦ Important — What we do NOT collect
We do not collect, store, or have access to: your salary figures, your negotiation history, your career data, your Gallup strengths, your compensation details, or any personal information you enter into our AI tools. This data exists only in your browser's localStorage and is never transmitted to our servers.

How we use it.

Email address — to send the Vaulther newsletter (weekly). You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
Payment information — processed entirely by Gumroad. We never see your full credit card number.
AI tool inputs — transmitted to Anthropic's API to generate your results, then immediately discarded. We do not store these on our servers.
Server logs — used solely for security and performance monitoring. Not linked to individual users.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not use your data to train AI models.

AI & Anthropic.

Vaulther uses Claude, an AI model developed by Anthropic, to power its tools. When you generate content in any Vaulther tool, your input is sent to Anthropic's API to produce a response.

✦ What this means for your data
Your inputs are processed by Anthropic according to their Privacy Policy (anthropic.com/privacy). Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models by default. We recommend avoiding entering highly sensitive personal information (such as your full name + exact salary + employer name combined) in AI prompts.

We do not log, store, or have access to the content of your AI conversations beyond what's necessary for the immediate API call.

Cookies & local storage.

Vaulther uses localStorage — not cookies — to store your tool data locally on your device. This includes your Career Tracker entries, Negotiation Vault logs, and Compensation Dashboard snapshots.

We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We do not use Google Analytics or similar third-party tracking services.

If you clear your browser's localStorage or use a different device, your tool data will not transfer — it exists only on the original device.

Your rights — GDPR & CCPA.

If you are located in the European Union or California, you have specific rights regarding your personal data:

Right to access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Right to deletion — request that we delete your personal data
Right to portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
Right to object — object to how we process your data
Right to unsubscribe — opt out of our newsletter at any time
Right to withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting previous processing

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@vaulther.com. We will respond within 30 days.

California residents (CCPA): We do not sell personal information. You have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request deletion.

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.

Data retention.

Newsletter email — retained until you unsubscribe
Pro subscription data — retained by Gumroad per their policy
Tool data (localStorage) — stored on your device indefinitely until you clear it
Contact form messages — retained for up to 12 months in our email inbox
Server logs — retained by Netlify for up to 30 days

Children's privacy.

Vaulther is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at hello@vaulther.com and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify newsletter subscribers by email.

Your continued use of Vaulther after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
